WHAT?

Astro Vellithirai Short Film Contest is a competition open to all Malaysians who are 18 years and above to direct and produce Tamil short film movies.

The Short Film must be within ten (10) to twelve (12) minutes duration (inclusive of opening and closing credits).

WHY?

Its aim is to discover new young talents who demonstrate great potential in directing and producing Tamil short films. This coincides with Astro Vellithirai commitment to support the development of Malaysian Tamil movie industry by giving local content more airtime on its platform.

WHEN?

The competition is from 1st July, 2010 to 13th August, 2010

Entry Requirements

Contestant is to attach the following and send to the Organizer vide the Mode and to the Address set out below:

  • One (1) clear photocopy of the Contestant's Identity Card (new).
  • Two (2) recent passport size photograph of the Contestant.
  • Short Film in Beta SP, Digi Beta, Mini DV or DV Pro tape format together with two (2) DVD copies.
  • A synopses of the film with the full production crew list.
  • Two (2) still photo of the short film and a photo of the director and crew.
  • The completed and signed Application Form which must be be obtained and printed from the Organizer's website i.e. www.astro.com.my.
  • All Entry Forms and aforesaid documents may be hand delivered or or posted (with proof of postmark) and must reach Astro before 5.30pm of 13th August, 2010.
