  1. Introduction to NJOI & NJOI Prepaid

    1. What is Njoi?

      Launched in December 2011, NJOI is Malaysia’s first subscription-free satellite TV service. NJOI gives customers in Malaysia immediate access to 48 TV and radio channels, comprising lifelong learning, information and entertainment programmes for a one-time payment, with no monthly subscription required.

      NJOI Zapper

      NJOI is available for a one-time payment of RM328 (GST incl.) at any authorised NJOI retailer. An additional RM100 standard installation fee applies.

      Customers will be provided with the following:

      1. 1 NJOI Zapper
      2. 1 Remote Control Unit
      3. 1 Refurbished Outdoor satellite dish
      4. 1 Smart Card
      5. RM60 worth of preview to prepaid content **

      **Get RM60 worth of preview to selected Premium Channels for 30 days (Mustika & Ying Shi) + Sports Pack which is equivalent to two prepaid vouchers.
      **Preview to Premium Channels will be activated within 7 working days of NJOI account activation

    2. What is Njoi Prepaid?

      NJOI Prepaid is Malaysia’s FIRST prepaid satellite television service. It is a pay-as-you watch service and is now available to all NJOI customers nationwide. With NJOI Prepaid, NJOI customers have the option to access additional content on top of the existing 48 TV and radio channels, in accordance with their viewing needs and budgets.

    3. How many channels are currently available on NJOI? (excluding NJOI Prepaid channels)

      NJOI gives customers in Malaysia access to 28 TV and 20 radio channels, comprising lifelong learning, information and entertainment programmes for a one-time payment, with no monthly subscription required. They are as follows:

    4. Why am I charged for GST now for NJOI bundled services box when previously there was no service or government tax charged for purchasing NJOI bundled services?

      With the implementation of GST from 1 April 2015, customers who purchase NJOI bundled services will be subject to the 6% GST, as GST is now applicable for all goods and services. This is as per nationwide implementation by the Royal Malaysia Customs Department.

    5. Would there be further price change later part of the year after GST has been implemented?

      For now, there will be no further price change. Upon the implementation of GST from 1st of April 2015, the price of NJOI bundled services is as per recommended which is subject to the 6% GST.

    6. If I want to replace my current box to a HD enabled one, is there additional charge?

      You will have to purchase a brand new box at the price of RM328 (incl. GST) with RM100 installation charge.

    7. How would I know if my box is HD enabled?

      All B.yond boxes are HD enabled. Please check your STB serial number to determine if your box is an HD enabled box. The serial numbers below are boxes which are HD enabled. Please ensure that your HD enabled box is connected to a HDMI cable to receive channel in HD quality.

  2. NJOI Prepaid

    1. What are the channels currently available under NJOI Prepaid?

      NJOI Prepaid allows NJOI customers greater flexibility to select their preferred channels. A total of 21 channels are currently available. Table 2 illustrates the Pricing and Validity Matrix of the NJOI Prepaid channels from the 3rd February 2016.

    2. Are there any prepaid channels or prepaid packages that offer sports coverage and content to NJOI Prepaid customers?

      Yes, currently we have two Sports Pack available; Astro Arena & Astro Supersport 4 OR Astro Arena & Astro Supersport 2, broadcasting major local and international sporting events. Please refer to the table from 2.1 for more information on pricing and validity or check out www.njoi.com.my

    3. Are there any prepaid channels or prepaid packages that offer Korean content to NJOI Prepaid customers?

      Yes, KBS World is available on NJOI Prepaid. You can purchase this channel through our Njoi Service Portal on channel 200. Charges and duration varies. Please refer to table 2.1

    4. Are there extended validity periods for NJOI Prepaid channels?

      In line with making our NJOI Prepaid services more convenient and flexible for our customers, we offer extended validity period for selected NJOI Prepaid channels. Customers will have the choice and flexibility to choose between the validity periods available. It starts from as low as RM5.30 for 3 days or up to RM21.20 for 3 days up to for 30 days validity (incl. GST). Check out www.njoi.com.my or Njoi Service Portal on CH200 for more information. Please refer to table above.

    5. Is the shorter validity for the NJOI Prepaid channels still available for purchase?

      Yes, the shorter validity for NJOI Prepaid channels can still be purchased from as low as RM5.30 for 3 days(GST incl.).(Please refer to table above)

    6. Will any of the other NJOI Prepaid channels (eg. Movies) be made available as 30-day channels?

      We will explore the possibility of making other NJOI Prepaid channels available for 30-day validity period as well. If there are any changes, we will make the necessary announcements to our customers

    7. Why am I charged with GST for purchasing channel when prepaid vouchers state that government service tax has already been factored in the price of the voucher?

      No government tax is charged when you purchase prepaid NJOI vouchers. Customers will get a full RM10 in their NJOI e-wallet upon topping up reload value of RM10. Example, if the customer reloads RM10 into his wallet, he will have RM10 to spend on purchasing the desired channels available.

      With the implementation of GST from 1 April 2015, customers who purchase NJOI Prepaid channels will be charged with 6% GST when they buy a channel. The GST amount, together with the value of the channel will be deducted when the channel is purchased.

      Please refer to channel 200 for the new pricing of NJOI Prepaid channels that are inclusive of GST.

    8. If I want to replace my current box to a HD enabled one, is there additional charge?

      You will have to purchase a brand new box at the price of RM328 (incl. GST) with RM100 installation charge.

  3. WWE Network Channel

    1. What is the WWE Network Channel?

      WWE Network, Channel 820 is a standalone channel available on subscription basis. It is a dedicated and 24/7 channel that offers nonstop WWE actions. It will be launch on 15th July 2015 for NJOI customers.

      WWE Network includes all 12 WWE live Pay-per-view events (WrestleMania, SummerSlam, WWE Elimination Chamber, Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and others), WWE, WCW and ECW Pay-Per-Views and classic matches, as well as ground-breaking original series, reality shows, classic shows, documentaries. It also comes with on demand content with new programming added regularly.

    2. When will WWE Network be available?

      WWE Network will be launched on 15th July 2015.

    3. Who can subscribe to WWE Network?

      All NJOI customers can subscribe to the channel.

    4. What is the main language that WWE Network is broadcasting in?

      WWE Network will broadcast primarily in English.

    5. Is the content on WWE Network Programs PG-Rated?

      WWE Network contains a range of programming suitable for various audiences. Content rated P13 or 18 will be preceded by appropriate advisory messages recommending viewer discretion.

    6. How much is the subscription fee of WWE Network?

      WWE Network is available for NJOI customers at RM15.90 – 7 days and RM26.50 – 30 days (Price inclusive of GST). NJOI customers need to purchase NJOI Prepaid vouchers to top-up their account before purchasing WWE Network through NJOI Service Portal, CH 200.

    1. Who is NJOI Prepaid made available to?

      NJOI Prepaid is a pay-as-you watch service available to all NJOI customers who own a set-top box (DMT or RDMT), Out-Door Unit (ODU) satellite dish, smartcard and remote control unit.

    2. Where can I purchase NJOI Prepaid vouchers?

      You can purchase NJOI Prepaid vouchers at any authorised NJOI dealer, Astro/NJOI retailer or Astro Outlet (Customer Service Centre) nationwide. See www.njoi.com.my for a complete list.

    3. How can I activate my NJOI Prepaid voucher / monetary token and what are the steps required?

    5. Will my activated NJOI prepaid credit expire?

      As of 7th December, 2015, NJOI prepaid credit will have an expiry period of 60 days from the day of your top-up. Available credit balance before 7th December 2015 will expire on 5th January 2016.

    6. Does the expiration date affect the viewing duration of my purchased channels?

      No, viewing duration of prepaid channels purchased is not affected by the expiry date of topped up credit.

    7. What happens to my credit once it reaches its expiry date?

      Upon expiry your expired credit will no longer be available for use. Any top up done after the expiry date be updated accordingly, do note that it will consist of a 60 day expiry period upon top up.

    8. What happens to my credit if I top up again before the expiry date?

      Performing a top up before the expiry date of your credit will renew the expiry date of the total credit amount in your prepaid account. It will override the previous expiry date, hence, giving another 60 days from the day of credit top up.

    9. How do I check my balance and when it expires?

      All prepaid vouchers and ch200 on NJOI will have detailed guidelines on how to check balance and expiry date.

    10. If I still have existing credit in my prepaid account, can I activate another NJOI Prepaid voucher to top it up?

      Yes, you may do so. The credit will be added to the existing balance in your prepaid account.

    11. If I still have viewing time available for a certain channel, can I purchase either the same channel or a different channel?

      Yes, you may do so. If you purchase the same channel, the start date for the viewing period will continue from the end date of your previous purchase for that channel. In other words, you will not lose any viewing time. Should you purchase a different channel, both channels will be viewable simultaneously.

    12. Why does it take longer for me to activate my NJOI Prepaid vouchers after midnight?

      Please be informed that there is a one (1) hour system maintenance conducted between 12.45am – 1.45am daily. Your request will be logged in and processed immediately once the system maintenance has been completed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    13. Are there any other denominations for NJOI Prepaid vouchers besides RM20?

      We are glad to inform that our Njoi Prepaid voucher currently comes in RM10, RM20 and RM30 denominations. You can purchase vouchers in any of these denominations and top-up your personal account to purchase your favorite channels. Should any new denominations be made available, we will make the necessary announcements.

    14. I have just had NJOI installed - why am I not able to view the 30 days preview (worth RM60) of Premium prepaid channels as mentioned in the NJOI Bundle?

      In striving to achieve efficiency, we have taken it upon ourselves to activate selected prepaid channels on our customers’ behalves once their accounts have been activated. 30 days preview (worth RM60) of Premium prepaid channels are EITHER Astro Bella, Astro Citra and Astro Ria OR TVB Xing He, Astro Shuang Xing and Celestial Movies plus the Sports Pack. As part of the NJOI Bundle promotion, customers may enjoy 30 days preview of this premium content (worth RM60) upon successful installation and account activation. If you are still unable to view the Premium prepaid channels after 7 working days after installation, kindly contact us at 03-9543 8100 (8am - 12 midnight).

    15. How can get I get more information on NJOI Prepaid up-coming highlights and promotions?

      We are happy to announce that you can go to NJOI Service Portal on Channel 200 to obtain monthly content highlights and promotions.

    16. Other than purchasing using the channel codes, are there other ways I can purchase the channel/s?

      Yes, you can purchase your channel/s from NJOI Service Portal, Channel 200 with the launch of the 16 digit dynamic code from 3rd January 2014 onwards. Just go to ‘How to Order’ menu. Purchase orders will still be made through SMS and standard telco charges apply.

    17. Where else can I obtain information on where to purchase my NJOI Prepaid vouchers from?

      You can go to NJOI Service Portal on Channel 200 to check out for the nearest dealer to you to purchase the NJOI Prepaid vouchers. You can check out www.njoi.com.my for a complete list.

    18. I do not know what the different NJOI Prepaid channels are offering. How can I find out what the channels available are offering?

      You can now obtain information about the NJOI Prepaid channels from NJOI Service Portal on Channel 200 or check out www.njoi.com.my for more information.

  5. Technical Issues related to NJOI Prepaid
    1. What is the NJOI customer service contact number?

      For any queries pertaining to NJOI, please contact us at 03-9543 8100 (8am - 12 midnight).

    2. After activating my prepaid voucher/topping up my NJOI prepaid account, I experienced technical issues with my NJOI decoder. What should I do? Will you extend my viewing duration?

      Please contact our customer service center at 03-9543 8100 (8am - 12 midnight) and we will do our utmost to identify and resolve the problem.

    3. What happens if I lose my NJOI Prepaid voucher or if it was stolen? Can I get a replacement?

      We regret to inform you that we are unable to provide any replacement for lost or stolen NJOI Prepaid vouchers. NJOI customers are responsible for the safekeeping of all purchased NJOI Prepaid vouchers. You can purchase a new prepaid voucher at any authorised NJOI dealer or Astro/NJOI retailer nationwide.     4. I am unable to activate my NJOI Prepaid voucher. What should I do?

      Please contact our customer service center at 03-9543 8100 (8am -12 midnight) and we will try our utmost to identify and resolve the problem. Should your NJOI Prepaid voucher be faulty, we will replace it with a new one for free.

    3. Will there be any new channels added to NJOI (ntv7, 8TV etc.) in the future? If so, when?

      We are pleased to inform you that we now have all the Media Prima channels (TV3, TV9, 8TV & NTV7) available for free on NJOI. We are continuously striving to bring you the best in satellite TV entertainment and we are collaborating with our business partners to provide you with more free and premium channels in the future.

  7. AOTG for NJOI Customers

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Commencing 1 Dec 2015, NJOI customers can have access to Astro on the Go and enjoy additional 5 channels for free on AOTG upon linking their NJOI account / smartcard with their Astro ID. The total number of channels an NJOI customer will receive are 9 – incl. the four always-free channels and 5 additional channels listed below:

    1. What do I get as an NJOI customer?

      You can now get to watch 9 channels for FREE on Astro on the Go as an NJOI customer. The channels include Awani, Arena, Go Shop, Go Shop 2, Prima, Oasis, AEC, XTY, and Vaanavil. Just logon to www.astroonthego.com and sign up for an Astro ID, then follow the instruction to link your NJOI account or smartcard to the Astro ID to get started.

    2. What are the 9 channels?

      The 9 channels are Awani, Arena, Go Shop, Go Shop 2, Prima, Oasis, AEC, XTY, and Vaanavil.

    3. What do I have to do?

      Just logon to www.astroonthego.com and sign up for an Astro ID, then follow the instruction to link your NJOI account or smartcard to the Astro ID to get started.

    4. why do I get only 9 channels and not all the 28 free channels that I am getting on my NJOI set top box?

      The channels and content available on Astro on the Go are subject to the rights from individual content provider. We’re continuously working to get more channels and content to be made available on Astro on the Go.

    5. Can I use my NJOI Prepaid credits to make a purchase on Astro on the Go?

      No – NJOI Prepaid credits is currently not able to be used to make purchases on Astro on the Go.

    6. If I make a purchase of an NJOI Prepaid channel on my NJOI set top box, will I also be getting the same channel on Astro on the Go?

      No – currently the purchase of NJOI Prepaid channel on NJOI set top box will not be reflected on Astro on the Go.

    7. Can I purchase more channels and content on Astro on the Go?

      Yes – you can you can opt to purchase the following to get more channels and content on Astro on the Go:

      a. On The Go Pack subscription to get a bundle of your favourite Astro TV channels;
      b. A la carte channel subscription if you would like to watch one particular channel;
      c. Other subscriptions and pay-per-view events / titles to watch your favourite TV shows, live sporting and entertainment events, or movies.

      You can make your payment using your chosen credit card via Astro Payment Gateway (just follow the steps). Please note that currently, NJOI Prepaid credit is not yet supported as a payment method on Astro on the Go, and purchased content on Astro on the Go will not be reflected on your NJOI set top box until further notice.

    8. I have recently upgraded my NJOI account into Astro pay TV subscription account / I have recently downgraded my Astro pay TV subscription account into NJOI account. What do I have to do?

      If you have previously linked your NJOI / Astro pay TV subscription account to the Astro ID that you’ve used to access Astro on the Go, kindly call us at 03 9543 3838 to unlink your account. Then, please follow the steps to link your Astro ID with your new NJOI / Astro pay TV subscription account again to continue accessing Astro on the Go.

      • Launch the Astro on the Go
      • Login with your Astro ID
      • Select Account from the top right icon
      • Select ‘Subscription’
      • Select ‘Link to a Set Top Box now!’
      • Select the NJOI Set Top Box
      • Key in your NJOI account / smart card number, and also select the ID type and key in the ID number that you’ve used to sign up for NJOI account, then press “Confirm” to link the smart card
      • Wait for a few minutes and refresh the current subscription screen.

    1. If I am an Astro customer, am I able to enjoy the prepaid NJOI services on my Astro decoder?

      Unfortunately, NJOI Prepaid is only available to NJOI customers.

    2. Why is NJOI Prepaid only available to NJOI customers and not to Astro customers as well?

      We understand the need to offer a variety of services to meet the diverse needs and wants of our customers. With NJOI and NJOI Prepaid, customers can enjoy subscription-free satellite TV as well as pay-as-you watch services at an affordable price with no recurring subscription fees or contractual obligations. On the other hand, Astro customers can experience the latest premium services including PVR, HD, 3D, as well as Astro On-the-Go.

  9. Njoi Community Package

    1. What is NJOI Community Package?

      As part of Astro’s CSR initiative, Astro is offering / providing free NJOI package comprising one (1) set of decoder and standard installation. For your information, there will be no monthly subscription for the NJOI Community Package.

    2. Who are the recipients of the NJOI Community Package and what are the criteria to be the recipient?

      All Underprivileged Centres registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and five (5) Underprivileged categories registered with the Registrar of Society (ROS) are entitled for the NJOI Community Package.

      Note:
      The five (5) Underprivileged categories registered with ROS are:
      1. Children
      2. Old Folks
      3. Handicapped
      4. Single Mother
      5. Care Centre
      The Underprivileged Centre must submit the Registration Certificate either from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) or Registrar of Society (ROS) together with a request letter via fax to 03-9543 6363. (Attention to : Njoi Community Package team)

      Upon receiving your request letter, Astro will call the Underprivileged Centre within seven (7) working days.
      *** NJOI Customer Service Number: 03-9543 8100 (8am - 12 midnight).

      Note:
      • The account registered must be under the Underprivileged Centre’s name not individual.
      • Each Underprivileged Centre is entitled for one (1) NJOI Community Package except for the Centre managed by JKM which is entitled up to maximum three (3) decoders / smartcards per centre due to the contract between Astro and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
      • How to register with JKM and ROS:

      a) Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM)
      • The Borang Pendaftaran Pusat Jagaan can be obtained at all Pusat Kebajikan Masyarakat Daerah (PKMD) nationwide. Please refer to attachment for PKMD Listing.
      • Registration payment of RM50 can be made at the counter upon submission of the form.
      • A complete application will be processed within one (1) month.
      • Approval will be notified via telephone call, email or post.
      • Upon approval, the Registration Certificate can be collected from the nearest PKMD.

      b) Registrar of Society (ROS)
      • Please visit www.eroses.gov.my to register as a user. Please click ‘Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Induk’.
      • Registration fee of RM30 can be made via online.
      • The Borang Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Induk is also available at all Jabatan Perdaftaran Pertubuhan Negeri (JPPN). Please refer to attachment for JPPN.
      • A complete application will be processed within 5 working days.
      • Approval will be notified via email and post.
      • The Registration Certificate will be made available via online (download the certificate) or post.

    3. How many channels are offered for NJOI Community Package?

      There are 28 TV channels and 20 Radio channels** (as at Oct 2015).

    4. What is included in the NJOI Community Package?

    5. How long does it take to receive the decoder?

      Please be advised that the turnaround time to deliver the decoder is depending on the location where the recipient is based. An installer will call the recipient to arrange for the installation date and time. Normally, it takes about 14 working days.

    6. Who does the installation/ activation for NJOI Community Package?

      Astro will be responsible for end-to-end installation arrangements under this CSR program.

    7. Who owns the decoder under the NJOI Community Package?

      The ownership of the decoder belongs to the Underprivileged Centre, while the smartcard ownership belongs to Astro.

    8. Who can I contact for Customer care?

      You can call 03-9543 8100 (from 8am until 12am) or fax to 03-9543 6363 or email to: [email protected], detailing your enquiry together with your full name, name of the Underprivileged Centre, contact number and account number or smartcard number if you have more than one smartcard. We will respond to your query within the next 24 hours via email or phone, whichever applicable.

    9. Is there a warranty for the decoder? If yes, how long is the warranty?

      Yes, the decoder has 12 months warranty from the time the box is activated.

      Note:
      • Please note that installation works will carry a standard 6-month warranty. After which, the standard charges for Technical Visit is RM100 per visit, excluding additional parts, if any.
      • The remote control is a consumable item and has no warranty.

    10. Is the box transferable? How about if someone buys the decoder from the Underprivileged Centre and call Astro to change the package?

      The box is not transferable and cannot be sold. There’s also no option to change package.

    11. Can I change the NJOI Community Package to the normal Astro packages? Do I have to repurchase the box?

      Your NJOI Community Package cannot be changed to normal Astro package. However, you can subscribe to a normal Astro package/s by applying a new application/installation.

      You can enjoy viewing other channels by purchasing NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card at a price of RM10, RM20 and RM30. Please refer to attachment for Prepaid Channel Listing.

    12. Can I subscribe to HD package/channels?

      Regret to inform that you are unable to subscribe to HD package/channel. Currently, there are two (2) HD channels available in NJOI Community package, i.e. Astro Xi Yue HD (Channel 300) and Astro Maya HD (Channel 135)**.

      For additional selected channel/s, you can purchase our Prepaid Voucher/Card.

    13. Can I subscribe to other channels aside to the 28 free channels given?

    14. What is NJOI Prepaid?

      NJOI Prepaid is a ‘pay-as-you watch service’ available to all NJOI customers. With NJOI Prepaid, you have the option to subscribe to additional selected content on top of the existing 48 channels (28 TV and 20 radio**) in accordance with your viewing needs and budget.

    15. How much is the Prepaid and how do I get it?

      You can get the NJOI Prepaid at a price of RM10, RM20 and RM30 at any Astro/NJOI authorized dealers, and selected e-pay kiosk such as Petronas stations, 99 Speedmart, Mydin, KK Mart and many more.

    16. How to active the NJOI Prepaid?

    17. Once I purchased a prepaid channel, what is the duration of the viewing period?

      You will have access to the channel for a fixed duration. Please refer to attachment for Prepaid Channel Listing for channel viewing durations.

    18. Does the NJOI Prepaid voucher have an expiry date?

      Yes. The expiry date will be shown on the NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card, i.e. one (1) year from the date of purchase. You are advised to check and activate their 16-digit pin code number before the NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card expires.

    19. Will I still be able to top up my expired prepaid voucher/card?

      No, you won’t be able to top up your prepaid if the voucher/card has expired. You have to purchase a new prepaid voucher/card.

    20. Will my activated NJOI prepaid credit expire?

      As of 7th December, 2015, NJOI prepaid credit will have an expiry period of 60 days from the day of your top-up. Available credit balance before 7th December 2015 will expire on 5th January 2016.

    21. If I still have existing credit in my prepaid voucher/card, can I activate another NJOI Prepaid voucher to top it up?

      Yes, you may do so. The credit will be added to the existing balance.

    22. If I still have viewing time available for a certain channel, can I purchase either the same channel or a different channel?

      Yes, you may do so. If you purchase the same channel, the start date for the viewing period will continue from the end date of your previous purchased for that particular channel. In other words, you will not lose any viewing time. Should you purchase a different channel, both channels will be viewable simultaneously.

    23. How can I get more information on NJOI Prepaid up-coming highlights and promotions?

      You can view the information on Channel 200 - NJOI Service Portal to obtain monthly content highlights and promotions.

    24. Other than purchasing using the channel codes, are there other ways I can purchase the channel/s?

      Yes, you can purchase your channel/s from NJOI Service Portal, Channel 200. Just go to ‘How to Order’ menu. Purchase orders will still be made through SMS and standard telco charges apply.

    25. After activating my prepaid voucher/topping up my NJOI prepaid account, I experienced technical issues with my NJOI decoder. What should I do? Will you extend my viewing duration?

      Please contact our customer service center at 03-9543 8100 (8am - 12 midnight) and we will do our utmost to identify and resolve the problem. Should your NJOI Prepaid voucher/card be faulty, we will replace it with a new one for free.

    26. What happens if I lose my NJOI Prepaid voucher or if it was stolen? Can I get a replacement?

      We regret to inform you that we are unable to provide replacement for the lost or stolen NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card. NJOI customers are responsible for the safekeeping of the purchased NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card.

    27. I am unable to activate my NJOI Prepaid Voucher/Card. What should I do?

      Please provide your name and IC number of which we will check the status of the card.

      Note:
      • The system will show the status of the card, i.e valid or invalid (faulty).
      • If the status is valid, the customer will be tough the following steps:
      Type: 111 <space> NJOI Smartcard Number <space> 16 Digit Pin Code and SMS to 33310.
      • If the status is invalid, a replacement card will be delivered to customer.

    28. If I am an Astro customer, am I able to enjoy the prepaid NJOI services on my Astro decoder?

      Unfortunately, NJOI Prepaid is only available to NJOI customers.

    29. Earlier, I was offered by Astro for the Community Package which I was enjoying free subscription for Family Pack, i.e. over 40 channels. Why Astro downgraded the service to NJOI Community Package, i.e. 28 TV channels**?

      We are not downgrading your subscription package. We have repositioned our community package to now offering free NJOI Community Package as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This package is offered to all Community Centres nationwide regardless whether the centre is a registered centre with JKM or ROS.

      Note:
      The T&C signed by the Centre under the previous ‘Underprivileged Scheme), Item 11 stated that:
      • Astro reserves the right to revise the quantum of rebate or withdraw the offer anytime it deems appropriate without reference to the Community care centres. Astro also reserve the right to revise the monthly subscription fees anytime in the future in line with the market rate or revise the programme packages or the number of channels offered to the Community care centres.

    30. What is the arrangement if I would like to maintain the current Family pack under the previous Community Package?

      If you take up the NJOI Community Package offer, you won’t be able to maintain the Family Pack. For your information, effective 1st September 2015, all Community Package accounts will be converted to NJOI Community Package.

      However, should you decided to maintain the Family pack, we will convert your account to normal Astro Astro Residential account and you would need to pay RM42.35 (GST incl)per month for the family pack.

    31. Is it possible to install both NJOI Community Package and normal Astro service?

      Yes, you can install both the NJOI Community Package and normal Astro service concurrently using 2 separate decoders. The normal Astro service is payable.

  10. e-Kasih Project

    1. What is this CSR program of giving away Njoi decoder about?

      As part of Astro’s CSR initiative Astro will provide free Njoi services to the poor and hardcore poor from the e-kasih database under the Implementation & Coordination Unit (ICU) of PMO.

    2. Who are the recipients of the free Njoi decoders? What are the criteria to be a recipient?

      WThe recipients are those registered with e-Kasih database managed by the Implementation & Coordination Unit (ICU) of PMO. The criteria are determined by ICU and fulfillment is at the discretion of Astro.

    3. How can I register for this program?

      You need to register at https://ekasih.icu.gov.my/Pages/Default.aspx. Please note that the criteria are determined by ICU and fulfillment is at the discretion of Astro.

    4. What else do I need to have to participate in this CSR Program?

      In order to participate in program, you must have:

      I. Reliable and stable electricity supply (including a working power socket outlet to which the Njoi equipment could be connected to); and
      II. A working television set at your place of residence where the Njoi equipment is to be installed and activated.

    5. Is the service only free for one month?

      The service is free for a lifetime for the channels provided, so long as the decoder is in working condition (the decoder comes with a 12 months warranty and 24 months warranty for Act of God)

    6. How many channels are offered?

      As part of Astro’s CSR program, the Njoi service provides free access to 28 TV channels and 20 digital Radio channels*. The free TV channels are:

      You have the option to subscribe to Astro with a low entry pack starting from RM42.35/month (GST incl.) onwards or Njoi services for a one-time payment of RM328 (GST incl.) for Zapper Box at any authorized NJOI retailer. An additional RM100 standard installation fee applies.

    13. Is there warranty for the Box? If yes, how long is the warranty?

      Yes, there are 2 types of warranties:

      i. 12 months warranty from the time the box is activated
      ii. 24 months warranty from the time the box is activated; covering faulty box caused by act of God such as fire, flood and earthquake.

    16. Can I upgrade my NJoi CSR program package to HD channels?

      For this Njoi CSR program, your Njoi account cannot be upgraded. However, you can get an Astro HD package by applying through a fresh new application. Standard charges apply for the monthly package subscription

    17. Can I watch Astro Xi Yue HD & Maya HD?

      You will need to have a HD enabled box and HD TV to watch Astro Xi Yue HD and Maya HD.

    18. If I want to replace my current box to a HD enabled one, is there additional charge?

      You will have to purchase a brand new box at the price of RM328 (incl. GST) with RM100 installation charge.

    19. How would I know if my box is HD enabled?

      All B.yond boxes and Njoi Zapper boxes are HD enabled. Please check your Njoi set top box serial number to determine if your box is an HD enabled box. The serial numbers can be found at the bottom of the set top box while below are serial numbers for boxes which are HD enabled.
