MAGAZINE
1. Why have
you changed the Astro Guide?
As we refresh our content to meet our customer needs, Astro Guide too has evolved into AstroView which now offers a more compelling read while providing our customers with listings of programmes on our channels. The changes we have introduced are based on extensive research conducted over the years.
2. How different is
this new magazine from Astro Guide?
AstroView is a new magazine and represents a total transformation from Astro Guide which was primarily programme listings. AstroView aims to offer our customers a truly TV Entertainment magazine, with more editorial content, synopses, hot picks and many more to complement your Astro viewing experience. We are also offering it in three different language editions to be able to give targeted content that are relevant to the readers.
3. Why have you taken away the bilingual feature of Astro Guide Dynasty and instead have separate English and Chinese versions for AstroView ?
With the introduction of new channels and more to come, producing a one-size-fit-all magazine becomes more challenging. Our research also indicates that customers prefer to read it in the language they are most familiar with. As such, three dedicated language magazines became the logical solution to address different customer needs.
SUBSCRIBING TO ASTROVIEW
1. Why do I have to subscribe or opt in via the subscription form? Why can’t you automatically just give me a copy of the magazine?
We need the subscription form returned to ensure that we send the preferred version and the desired quantity.
The subscription form is also to ensure that only customers who really want the AstroView will receive it, as there will be some customers who may not need the magazine. Also, we have incorporated a survey form which will help us to get to know our customers’ needs and interests better and tailor our products and offerings to their needs in the future.
2. Where can I find the Magazine Subscription form?
You can find the AstroView Subscription form:
- in your AstroView magazine,
- online at www.astro.com.my
- at any Astro customer service centres
3. How do I return the subscription form to Astro?

4. What is the deadline for submitting the Subscription Form?
The deadline for the Subscription form to reach us is 31st Jan 2008. However, we request that you submit your form as early as possible, as we may require up to 2 months for processing.
5. How can I check the status of the form I sent in via fax/email/pos?
Please be advised that it will take up to 2 months to process due to the overwhelming number of forms we have received. We will send you a confirmation of receipt via email, once the form has been processed. If you do not receive any response after 7 - 10 working days, we suggest that you send in the form again.
6. Can I change the language version of what Astro has sent me?
Yes, you can change the language version by returning the Magazine Subscription form. You only need to submit a Magazine Subscription form once. We advise you to submit your form early as it may take up to 2 months* for your order to be processed.
7. Why do you need such a long time to process the AstroView subscription form?
We are expecting a high number of customers responding and subscribing to AstroView, and the extended period is needed to process the anticipated volume of subscription forms. While we try to process the subscription forms as quickly as possible, we advise customers to submit the forms early to ensure timely delivery of AstroView to their homes.
8. What if I change my mind and want a different language version than the one I selected after a few months? Can I change my selection later?
Yes. You can change the language versions but please allow up to 2 months for the changes to be effective.
9. I was previously receiving the Dynasty version of Astro Guide which has both English and Chinese content. Can I get both English and Chinese versions of AstroView?
Yes, you can. However, we offer the 1st copy of AstroView, whichever language version you chose, on a complimentary basis. Customers are free to subscribe to additional copies of different language versions at RM4.80 each.
10. If I am not an Astro customer, can I still subscribe to AstroView?
No, AstroView is only offered to Astro customers exclusively.
While AstroView is provided as a service and a privilege to existing customers, Astro reserves the right to suspend delivery of AstroView to customers who are delinquent in their payments for Astro services, or who fail to maintain the active status of their Astro account.
LISTINGS
1. Why is the
programme schedule listing only 18 hours instead of 24 hours?
Based on our research, most of our customers are satisfied with the 18 hour listing. Customers who require 24 hour information on programs schedules can access the listing information online or use the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) by pressing ‘INFO’ on the Astro remote control.
2. Why does the magazine not list all the Astro channels?
A majority of our customers have told us that they prefer receiving a magazine rather than a TV guide with programme listings alone. Hence, AstroView will focus more on the content which enhances the entertainment value of the magazine, such as feature stories, articles, hot picks, etc. We have maintained a fair allocation of channel listings but these are customized according to the different language versions. Complete programme listings are available on the EPG through your Astro remote control as well as online.
3. Apart from AstroView, where can I go to get the listings?
You can get program listings information from our Electronic Program Guide via your Astro Remote Control, and also the online program guide at our website at www.astro.com.my
4. What are the additional features in the online programme guide?
The programme
guide is already available online on our website http://www.astro.com.my/opg/ and is feature rich with:
- video trailers
- Customisable
display with your favourite channels listed right at the top
- programme reminders sent to your email inbox or SMSed to
your mobile phone
- 24-hour programme listings for all Astro channels
- A desktop widget
you can download for offline reference
- Comes in a
multimedia (broadband) and a Lite version for faster downloads.
