Astro TV Apps         How To Access         FAQ


1. What is TV Apps?
TV Apps is a web-based interactive service that allows Astro customers to interact with Astro content such as videos in various languages, news, educational content, football scores, games and selected featured programs.

This service is available to all Astro B.yond IPTV customers and Astro B.yond PVR customers connected to the internet.

2. How do I access TV Apps
To enjoy TV Apps, you’ll need either an Astro B.yond IPTV box or Astro B.yond PVR box with a broadband internet connection:

      A. Astro B.yond IPTV subscriber
Press the ‘apps’ button on your remote to launch TV Apps.

B. Astro B.yond PVR subscriber
Your PVR must be connected to your broadband internet connection. This procedure is identical to setting up Astro B.yond Video On Demand (VOD).

To setup your PVR, kindly follow the steps in the VOD connectivity guide.

Once your PVR is connected, press the ‘apps’ button on your remote to launch TV Apps.


3. If I am not subscribed to Astro B.yond PVR, can I access TV Apps?
No. You must subscribe to the PVR service in order to enjoy TV Apps. Please call 03 - 9543 3838 to subscribe.

4. Do I need to pay for TV Apps?
No. TV Apps is currently accessible for free by all B.yond IPTV and connected B.yond PVR customers.

5. What is the recommended broadband speed for TV Apps?
Astro recommends that your broadband download speed to be at least 5Mbps for optimum performance. At the minimum speed of 1Mbps you may have to wait for some time when streaming videos.

6. Do I have to use a particular internet provider to enjoy TV Apps?
No, you may use any internet provider of your choice.

7. I’ve encountered the “DNS Server is temporarily unable to service the request. Please try again later.” What should I do?
Your PVR has been disconnected from the internet. Please check your internet connection and reconnect your PVR to the internet.
