PURPOSE OF CENSORSHIP
The purpose of censorship is to protect the public from watching contents contravening our code of values and national culture as well as to maintain and ascertain the harmonious relationship between the races and religions in the country.

Video Clips which has elements of the below mentioned subjects will be rejected.

CENSORSHIP GUIDELINES

A) Ideologies and Politics Aspects

  1. Contradicts the ideologies of Malaysia
  2. Undemocratic scenes
  3. Making fun or embarrassing a nation
  4. Propaganda concerning communism

B) Religion Aspects

  1. Insulting or causing sensitivity in any religion
  2. Resulting in doubts and feelings of uneasiness among the public
  3. Giving inaccurate historical facts

C) Social Cultural Aspects

Social and Cultural Value

  1. Not in accordance with the principles of Rukun Negara and the current policies of the Government
  2. Depicting lifestyle which is against the cultural values of Malaysia
  3. Containing elements and scenes which contradict the faith or insult the religion on the whole.

Racism

  1. Scenes which show the superiority of one race over another and can instigate and disrupt the public peace

Sex

  1. Scenes which has sexual scenes, passionate kissing, nudity, causes/leads to sexual arousal, obscene signs using parts of the body and using devices.
  2. Verbal obscenities in various languages and all words which contains sexual innuendo.
  3. Cross dressing that is not pleasing to the eyes.
  4. Counter culture aspects that are deemed impolite

D) Moral and Ethical Aspects

Crime

  1. Scenes which encourages criminal acts and displaying criminal scenes
  2. Shows legal authority not taking action against the criminal
  3. Mass Killing
  4. Acts of violence towards animals in any way whatsoever.

Violence

  1. Scenes which causes pain to body, injury, death or mental distraction to another person and damages property in the extreme.

Horror

  1. Scenes that are made for the purpose of frightening and horrifying viewers to the extreme.
  2. Close ups scenes of abusive acts.
