Brief Description of Competition

Aattam 100 Vagai 5 is a dance competition organized by Vaanavil channel to promote and discover new talents among Malaysian Indian youths.

Brief mechanism of Competition

The Competition comprises the following rounds:

(a) Audition during which 24 Groups will be selected to qualify for the Heats.

(b) Heats during which 12 Groups will be selected to qualify for the Semi Finals.

(c) Semi Finals  during which 6 Groups will be selected to qualify for the Grand final

(d) Grand Final during which 6 groups from the Grand final will compete to be selected as Grand Champion.   

1 Champion, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up will be selected in the Grand Final.

The Contestants must adhere to the mechanism of the Competition as may be briefed and communicated to the Contestants by the Organiser during the Competition Period.

Eligibility Criteria

i) The Competition is open to all Malaysian Indians of the Age of Eligibility below.
ii) Each Contestant must be a Malaysian citizen and must possess a valid Malaysian Identity Card.

Age of Eligibility

The Competition is open to all Malaysians who are between 18 to 35 years of age as at 29th of August 2009 (based on the Gregorian calendar).

29th August 2009 till 19th December 2009

Date    : 29th & 30th August 2009
Venue : Studio 9, Ground Floor,
              Wisma Ali Bawal II,
              11 Jalan Tandang,
              46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Time  : 1000hrs – 1800hrs

The Organiser reserves the right to amend, postpone or re-schedule the Competition Period, Venue or any of the dates thereof at its sole discretion. 

Language of Competition

The Competition will be organized and produced by the Organiser in the Tamil language.

Entry Procedure

Each Group must complete and sign the Application Form (which can be obtained from www.astro.com.my).

1. On the Audition Dates, completed Application Form is to be submitted to the Organiser together with the following (which shall be non-returnable):- One (1) clear photocopy of each Group member’s Malaysian Identity Card (new); and
2. One (1) recent 8R-size photograph of the Group (all the Group members).
3.  The *CD containing the music to which the Group will be performing.
4.  Each group must consist of 6 team members

*[Note: No Remix or own reedited songs. Only Tamil language songs are permitted.

The Organiser shall be entitled to request to sight the original Identity Card or the originals of other supporting documents/materials for verification and validation.

Entry Deadline

Entries must be received by the Organiser on or before 1800hrs on 30th August 2009. Entries received after the stipulated time will be disqualified and ineligible for consideration for prizes.

Selection of Winner

Winners will be chosen based on the format of the Competition.

Champion
Ringgit Malaysia Sixty Thousand (RM60,000) only

1st Runner Up
Ringgit Malaysia Thirty Five Thousand (RM35,000) only

2nd Runner Up
Ringgit Malaysia Twenty Five Thousand (RM25,000) only

Consolation X 3  - Ringgit Malaysia Seven Thousand (RM7,000) only

Notification of winners

Winners will be notified/winner’s names will be announced by the Organiser at the end of Grand Final.

Collection Period

Payments will be made within two (2) months from the date of the Grand Final. Non cash prizes, if any, shall be collected by the winners within one (1) months from the Organiser’s notification from the Collection Venue below.

Additional Terms, if any

1. Employees of the Organiser, Astro All Asia Networks plc, its subsidiaries and affiliates, sponsors, agents, dealers, retailers, or any company associated with the Competition or an immediate family member of such person are not eligible to participate in the Competition.
2. Groups/ all persons who have previously became the Champion, 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner Up in the finals of the previous seasons of the Competition are not eligible to enter this Competition.
3. The selection of contestants during the Audition who will qualify in the Competition shall be at the Organiser’s sole discretion whose the decisions shall be final.

 The Basic Terms and the Standard Terms and Conditions (collectively “Terms and Conditions”) shall be binding on all contestants who participate in this Competition (“Contestants”). The definitions in the Standard Terms shall apply unless otherwise expressly agreed in the Basic Terms. In the event of any inconsistency between the Standard Terms and Conditions and the Basic Terms, the Basic Terms shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.

Entry and participation in the Competition shall be deemed an unconditional acceptance by the Contestants of the Terms and Conditions.
