- Q: Will I be bonded and for how long?
A: An Astro scholar is expected to serve Astro or its related organisations for 3 years for if you apply for a local scholarship and 5 years if you apply for a foreign scholarship. This way, the scholars will pursue his or her degree with a clear vision of employment opportunity.
- Q: What does the scholarship cover?
A: The Astro Scholarship funds tuition, living expenses based on our estimates of living expenses in chosen location of study, any mandatory health and medical insurance and air travel. All these expenses shall not exceed RM150,000 per year for certain foreign scholarships. For those intending to take up Bachelor of Dramatic Art in Australia, each scholarship is limited to RM100,000 per year while local university scholarship is worth minimum RM8,000 per year. Students are expected to bridge the difference if the total education cost exceeds these limits. Scholars are advised to ensure that financial support is available to bridge the difference. A scholar has to fulfil all conditions stipulated in the scholarship agreement including paying back to Astro if a scholar fails to complete his or her study due to any shortfall in funding.
- Q: Am I allowed to switch my area of study?
A: You are not allowed to switch your major without written approval from Astro.
- Q: If I were awarded the Scholarship, can I receive additional financial assistance from other organisations?
A: You may as long as you are not bonded by these organisations that will prohibit you from serving your obligations or employment at Astro.
