A trip to compete in the grand final in the exotic city of Hanoi is the big reward for golfers who sign up to compete in the 2010 Prudential Astro Masters qualifying rounds that kick off in March and will take place in some of the best courses throughout the country. The golf courses offer wonderful challenges in the form of fast greens, elevated teeboxes, narrow fairways with plenty of water hazards coming into play. The Prudential Astro Masters, recognised as the biggest amateur tournament in Malaysia, continues to excite golfers who wish to bask in the glory for finishing above the rest.
The best two golf courses in this historical Vietnamese city have been reserved to provide further challenges to subscribers of Astro who make it through the qualifying rounds. Only the Best Gross and Best Nett performers at each round will win invitations to compete in Hanoi and earn the right to be installed as grand Prudential Astro Masters champion of 2010. The two courses in Hanoi are Van Tri and Chi Linh Star. Nineteen qualifying rounds have been scheduled on 17 courses that include Kota Permai, Orna, KGSAAS, Meru Valley, Borneo GCC, Templer Park and Shan Shui in Tawau, to name a few.
For the first time in the history of the Astro Masters, there will be a cap of not more than four-under in the nett category, a move that will provide a more level playing field which in turn offers more thrill in the Race to Hanoi.
Exciting prizes and generous goodie bag items - for long a hallmark of the Prudential Astro Masters - await subscribers and their guests. The prizes and items are courtesy of Prudential Astro Masters partners like Ambank, LG Electronics, Crest Link, Bridgestone, Titoni, Pharmaton, Fred Lenzo, One Golf Passport, TVB, AXN, Golf Channel, Maxis, GOLF Magazine, Top Gear magazine, SunPlay, Labs Skin, Rexona, Fresh & White, Shokubutsu, Heineken, Gatorade, Lipton, Top and Clear.
